My Studio !
Today, June 10, excavation was done and the footings poured for my studio.
This is the garage wall, and a bit of  family room. The chimney is the corner jutting in  at top right of photo. Access to the house will be through a door added just to the left of the chimney.
June 11th Forms were constructed and the foundation was poured
June 12th Forms are removed, moisture proofing stuff applied, and a hole has been sawed into the crawlspace of the house. There is a layer of gravel with plastic on top of it in the artroom crawlspace floor.
Here's an extreme closeup of the foundation. I added seed beads!
June 13th - Well, now it looks small! The foundation has been backfilled. There is a layer of styrofoam around the outside. The dirt they dug out has been used to fill in around the outside of the foundation. Tony had said the concrete guys would pour a layer in the bottom today, but they didn't.
Looking to the west. All the dings in the siding are from a tree branch that used to bang on the house when it was windy.
June 23rd We were on vacation for a week,and look what happened!
June 24th  8 am or so
A couple hours later. Windows are high because it will be countertop on the west and south walls.
This is the east side. There is no door to the outside, so for now there is a removable panel that will soon no longer exist. The window above this text will have a 100+ year old stained glass panel hung inside.

End of day June 25th. See my hollyhocks at left. I'll plant more flowers across the front.
Friday June 27th. Plumbing and electric are roughed in.

This is the north wall of the studio, up against the garage. If you look through the lower hole, you can see Michael's Cubs clock across the garage. This wall has to be insulated and fireproofed on the garage side also to be up to code.
June 30. Insulation is next.....
July 1 Wallboard
July 2: Hole is cut from family room to studio
Later on the 2nd, wallboard is taped.The blue plastic is the door for now.
OK, the painters came uhhhh last week? But the floor came just today, July 23rd, for MY BIRTHDAY. The walls are very pale blue, and there is blue in the floor as well.
Miffy likes the floor... or the glue fumes.
